Top 3 Tips for Futures Brides

1. Splurge on the perfect location and you won't have to spend a fortune on flowers and decorations! 2. Make sure that your photographers are not only talented, but also personable, as they will be following you around all day. 3. Remember to wear your contacts so you can see your groom's face when you walk down the aisle!

Personal Touches:

I wore my mother's wedding gown and veil to the church and had rose pedals thrown as we walked out the church door. After dinner, we surprised everyone with a choreographed dance to "Time of our Lives" that reflected many of the same dance moves as the movie, Dirty Dancing, including a lift!

The Best Thing about the day:

Watching my husband tear up when he took my hand from my father.

What went wrong?
My hair fell flat because of the heat. But if that is all that I can come up with, I think it was a pretty successful day!

The Location:

The reception was at White Cliffs Country Club in Plymouth, MA. I chose this tented venue because it overlooks cape cod bay and had the perfect summer feel. The weather was perfect! The reception site is renowned for their beautiful gardens and breath-taking views of the beach and ocean. It is also intimate, which was an important consideration because I only planned on 125 guests.

The Planning:

My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been together for over 8 years now. We had known we were going to get married for about 6 of those years and were engaged for 3 of them. I had very little help planning my wedding, mostly because I thoroughly enjoyed every single aspect of it! We looked at over 25 venues over the course of a year before we found the perfect spot. I interviewed several photographers, DJs, and florists, as well. I got tips from this website Premier Bride and magazines and my mother. I had such a blast planning my wedding, I have decided that I would love to be a wedding planner and am working towards that goal.

Cape Cod/Beach/Outdoors

Hydrangea flowers, beach wood with slots for place cards, glass house for cards on the gift table, etc.

Flowers:

Hydrangea mix of flowers with fresh cut limes in the vases. The colors were purple, blue and lime green.

Menu:

Cape Cod breast of chicken with cranberry walnut stuffing and mixed veggies. Fruit and cheese display. Coffee and pastry display. Passed appetizers in an assortment of seafood.

Cake:

Three tiers of Nantucket basket weave separated by fresh hydrangeas. The cake was white with fresh strawberries and peaches.

Budget: $30,000

Rehearsal Dinner:

The rehearsal dinner was held at another one of our favorite locations, The Tavern at Quarry Hills at Granite Links golf course in Quincy, MA. We also had the rehearsal dinner outside in a tent, only this time it was overlooking the Boston skyline.
